He has an experience of more than 25 years in his field.

He is practising Bariatric Surgery for more than 15 years and has performed hundreds of operations successfully for weight loss and for treating various metabolic diseases like diabetes, sleep apnoea, PCOS etc.

He performs various operations for weight loss like Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric Bypass, Mini Gastric Bypass, Banded gastric bypass, Sleeve DJB among others. He also performs endoscopic bariatric procedures like Intra-gastric Balloon, Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty.

He also performs redo and revision Bariatric Surgery for weight re-gain and complications.

He is also an expert robotic surgeon and performs weight loss surgeries by the robotic method in addition to the laparoscopic method.

He runs a successful and comprehensive Weight-loss and Metabolic Surgery program at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore with a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Nutritionists, Exercise physicians, Gastro-enterologists, Pulmonologists, Anaesthetists and Intensive care physicians. He also organises various support group meetings for people living with Obesity.

He has organised, attended and spoken at numerous national and international conferences on the subject. He was the organising secretary of the national conference of Obesity Surgeons of India (OSSICON) 2022 held in Bangalore.

He is a life member of IMA, ASI (Associations of Surgeons of India), OSSI (Obesity Surgeons Society of India). He is an active member of Surgical Society of Bangalore and Bangalore Bariatric Club.

He is a teacher and examiner for the National Board of Examinations for the Post-graduate (DNB) degree in General Surgery.

In addition to Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery he also performs laparoscopic and robotic operations for other abdominal and gastro-intestinal conditions like Upper GI, colo-rectal, hepato-biliary and complex abdominal hernias. He also performs robotic surgery of the thyroid gland.
